Abstract:
The principal methods for the synthesis of C-ethynylpyrroles are presented. The mechanisms of reactions underlying these methods are considered. The reactivity of C-ethynylpyrroles is discussed with primary attention being given to cycloaddition and intramolecular cyclization involving the ethynyl substituent, resulting in new pyrrole systems.
