Abstract: Eight new C60(CF3)16 isomers have been synthesized by high-temperature trifluoromethylation of [60]fullerene with gaseous CF3I, isolated by HPLC, and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation.
Keywords: fullerene C60, trifluoromethylation, HPLC separation, structure elucidation, synchrotron radiation.
