Upscaling of relative phase permeabilities in an isolated stratified reservoir

Abstract:
A method for construction of pseudo-functions of relative phase permeabilities in a stratified oil reservoir with impervious breaks is considered. The method is based on the direct modeling of two-phase flow neglecting capillary and gravitational forces and also compressibility of the porous matrix and fluids. An analytical form of the modified functions of relative phase permeabilities is proposed. The efficiency of the presented upscaling method is demonstrated on the model problem and the real oil-field simulation.
