Preparation, properties and applications of oligomeric and polymeric organosilanes

Abstract: The studies devoted to methods of preparation of oligomeric and polymeric organosilanes, their properties and their use are reviewed. Industrial sources, as well as processes underlying the laboratory syntheses of these compounds are analyzed. Characteristics of the silicon–silicon σ-bond and electronic interactions in oligoorganosilanes are discussed. Physicochemical properties of oligomeric and polymeric organosilanes and their known and prospective applications are considered.
