Abstract: Novel N-amidine-functionalized cyclopentadiene gold(I) complexes [C5(CO2Me)4{ArNC(α-C10H7)NAr}]Au(PPh3) have been prepared, and their stable chiral structure with the Au–N bond [2.091(6) Å] and the additional coordination Au···π-system of the cyclopentadiene ring has been proved by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.
