Abstract: The treatment of 2-amino-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene-3-carboxylic acid amide with phosphorus pentasulfide in the presence of pyridine yielded 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiopheno[2,3-d]-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphinane-2-thione; the alkylation of its sodium salts was studied.
